Yacht Crew Welfare Insurance

CREW WELFARE INSURANCE FOR MEDICAL TRAVEL, PERSONAL ACCIDENT & ILLNESS

Crew list:

Name of crew
Nationality
Age, date of birth
Position held on board
Any accidents or illnesses in the last 3 years, should be adviced.
Monthly salary of each crew member

GROUP BUSINESS TRAVEL MEDICAL POLICY

This insurance is probably best kept separate from the Hull policy, as not only are the benefits greater, but if there are any claims under the Medical policy it will not affect any possible increases that may be applied to the Hull policy, thus protecting any rebates that are available.

A Medical and Travel Policy can be insured under a group scheme in the name of the company owning the yacht. It is important to note that it protects the crew on and off the yacht in working hours as well as leisure time, provided they are always employed by the owing company.

This insurance does not cover crew members in their own country of residence. It is considered by underwriters that if a person is in their own country of residence they would be covered under the welfare of the State of that country. However we do have provisions in place for extending cover and this would be discussed at the time of negotiation of the insurance.

Some of the benefits of this policy are :-
Crew replacement
Kidnap and Ransom
Winter sports, which is ideal for crew who have access to the ski resorts in the winter months.
Policy wording submitted on request.
GROUP PERSONAL ACCIDENT OR GROUP PERSONAL ACCIDENT & ILLNESS POLICY

This refers to Death, Loss of Limb, Sight, Hearing etc. following an accident or illness, provided the illness section is required and included.

Usually benefits are 3 times the crew’s annual salary, but higher multiplication can be purchased.
